Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let a site remember information about your visit, or help third parties measure how the site is used.

1. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use WaitingCost, such as which pages are viewed and which features are used. This helps us improve the tool.

Cookie names:

_ga, _ga_<container-id>, _gid

Purpose:

distinguishing visitors, measuring engagement

Duration:

_ga and _ga_<container-id> are set to expire after 2 years of inactivity by default (most browsers, including Chrome, cap first-party cookies at a maximum of 400 days regardless of this setting); _gid expires after 24 hours. This cookie lifespan is separate from how long Google Analytics retains your visit data on its servers for our own reporting, which is set to 2 months — see our Privacy Policy for more.

2. Advertising cookies (Google AdSense)

We plan to display ads on WaitingCost through Google AdSense to support offering this tool for free. As of this policy's last update, live ad units have not yet been activated — space is reserved on the page, but no advertising cookies are currently being set. Once ads go live, Google AdSense may set cookies used to serve and measure ads, and in some cases to personalize which ads are shown based on your activity across sites.

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. You can also opt out of personalized advertising broadly at http://www.aboutads.info/choices/. Blocking cookies may limit how well analytics reflects actual site usage, but WaitingCost's calculator itself will keep working fully either way — no part of the tool's core function depends on cookies.

We may update this Cookie Policy as our use of cookies changes — for example, once AdSense units go live. The "Last updated" date above will reflect the latest revision.
